I still have more adjustments to do to it but it starts and moved under its own power again

even my wife and son chipped in to help out. I have to admit my wife installed the sending unit after I got tired of fighting with it

I also ordered the rear brake system for the new setup today from summit

I think I'd relocate the fuel pressure regulator up top where it's easier to access.

well the fuel pump is supposed to be below the tank for gravity feed and the regulator is supposed to be as close to the pump as possible so with the limited space thats the only place to put it.

Ive seen pumps way up front under the hood with pressure regulators a few inches away and Ive also seen a pressure regulator directly fitted to the pump and everything has worked out for everyone so I dont know if it makes much difference.

I dont like my pump or regulator being where they are but that was the best place to put them according to manufacturers recommendations and it works so Ill live with it for now

time for a couple of small updates
Ive been dreaming away and stashing every extra dollar I can and always looking out for deals and now its paying off
first update is that my engine is FINALLY making progress towards being finished. I saw the short block assembled today :yahoo:

and recently I decided to sell a VERY clean maverick builder I was hanging onto for my daughter. decided I can find another one by time shes old enough to drive since shes only 11 now Ive got time :thumbs2:

I posted the car on craigslist for $3000 obo and got an offer or two that got turned down and just before I was going to say welp I guess Ill keep it someone came by and said Ill take it for $3500 with a grabber hood after looking it over for MAYBE a whole 5 minutes tops. well it turns out that buyer is a fabricator by trade so I immediately started asking a million questions and after answering a few questions we decided he was going to keep his cash and build my chassis MY WAY for $6000 with the $3500 being the down payment :woohoo1: it was a done deal for sure after going to his shop and checking out some of the cars he was building for other customers including a 2000hp nova and a 800hp sleeper mustang notch back

so now the engine is almost done my chassis and cage work is starting in about two weeks and he figures it will be done in a couple of months. the car is going in as is rolling complete and coming back completely DONE.

the body will be removed from the frame once the frame rails are all tied together and cage is all built then the rolling chassis will go to powder coat then come back to his shop for the body to be installed

    :dancingpa:

more updates as progress is made
here are the pics of the car that I was hanging onto. as anyone can see this car is SUPER CLEAN but it went to a good home and I can HOPEFULLY find another one this clean if my daughter wants a maverick or comet when its time

That should help put all that power to good use....or lay down some serious marks on the road!

A lot of times when I see people say what they plan on doing I just figure yeah it all sounds good but will never happen but in your case it really is . You will have one insane ride when you are done, keep up the good work and keep posting.

its been a long road to get to this point but Im fortunate enough to have learned to make deals with people who have the skills I dont and no matter what not give up on the dream of this car. from time to time it stalls out due to not having money for parts or like everyone else sometimes life just gets in the way but I NEVER give up and know one day it will be done one way or another

since this car is going to be driven on the street the cross bar behind the seats was curved back a little so I can have some adjustment to my seats once theyre in

the 363 is finally making progress as well. perfect timing too
    75501034_3055617544489165_4710273926100418560_n.jpg

the rest of the chassis will likely be done in the next week or so well see how things go.
once the chassis is done were going to move onto everything else the car needs like
    the tilt front end
    installing the engine
    getting the pulleys figured out
getting a transmission and getting it in
    custom headers built and installed
buy the terminator efi kit with two throttle bodies and get them installed
build and install drive shaft after balancing
    build and install fuel cell
    buy and install ignition system
    wire the entire car over
buy battery box and install in trunk
buy new tires install seats likely need to build custom tracks dont know yet
take the body off of the chassis
    take the tail lights out
remove whole dash and remove cluster
take tons of stuff to powder coating
firewall still needs to be finished
crash bars are in just not pictured
all of the sheet metal work for the floors should be done by next weekend
    car is coming out FANTASTIC!
Im glad I found the fabricator Im dealing with hes way ahead of me any time I bring up anything thats not done yet.

hopefully another update by next weekend
