I agree don't sell it. The best advice I can give is buy another daily driver if you can, and then work on fixing this one up. I wish I would have done that with my first car which happens to have been a Maverick. I got flustrated with it as well, and I traded it for another car. I should have parked it and worked on it! It is a lot easier to work on an older car, and bring it along if you aren't depending on it as a daily until you get everything up to snuff!

Just my .02, all I can say for me getting rid of it instead parking it and restoring it was one of my biggest mistakes, one that I look back on and regret. :(

    Good luck!

    I have a pasture

hey, since I'm guessing waco as in waco,tx.........I also have a pasture and a matching 74 comet that would pair well with it.........would save me a v-8 conversion since the i-6 has only 74000 miles and is in great shape........if you do decide to "send er on, let me know.........Robert

    :)

    dunno

 no, I don't remember her, but I've only been here since 1990........funny though, my comet lived it's whole life here also............. that makes them a good pair, huh????????Robert
ps.....Any idea of her name, maybe I could find out who she be?:bananaman
pps....just a thought, the longer you hang on to her, the harder it willl be to let go.....mine stays covered inside now and only comes out for pretty weekends and cruise nights, and it's a rust bucket.

I really don't think putting the car out to pasture is the way to go, None of your problems sound serious enough to warrant that. I got mine back in 2002 and at first after I took a good hard look at the ugly paint, noticed all the rust (mainly on the rear floor pans), and all the other little hiccups it had I thought at first I had made a mistake didn't know what I was thinking, etc. But after awhile I realized I didn't afterall I did want a project car and thats exactly what I got :D, for $250 you really can't complain right? Now after seeing what the average Maverick goes for today I realized I lucked out, these cars are getting harder to find and more expensive to buy when you do find one. So my advise is hang on to yours and fix the problems one at a time.
    Good Luck
