Adding a rear spoiler

was a old artical on here about a guy who used one off a 78 firebird,i may still have the pic if your interested let me know and i'll look

 

I would definitely like to see that one.

 

The pic was in the old foreign Mav pic gallery.
I don't know if it was carried over to the new one or not.
I have looked through the galleries, and it seems to me that some of the pics are no longer there.
Anyway, the car had several TA elements on it... spoilers, scoops, shaker...
I don't like it. WAY too busy.
The rear spoiler also did not fit anywhere close to the way it was intended on the TA. There are opposing 'body flows' (don't know how else to put it) between the car and the part.
In all fairness though, there were pics of the car, but none was a close pic.

Yeah, I seen that pic I think it's a black Mav with scoops on the fenders, and a TA wing.

 

Is the width of the aftermarket Mach 1 wing spoiler too wide for the Mav?? Just curious as I was going to use it on my 69 1/2 ? Sorry for hi-jacking the thread.

I think it actually fits on there pretty good. A few guys on here have used one.

 

69-70 wings are different than 71-73 wings.
I don't know how that affects the look on our cars though.
The 71-73 wings are wider, pedastals closer, and a little shorter height. To me, that seems the one to use... but no experience here, just letting you know your question depends on which you use.

Here's a few pics I have of my dad's '71 Comet GT when it had the '71-'73 Mustang spoiler on it. I think it looks awesome on there, looks like it belongs on the car and wasn't just an after thought. I am planning to put one on my car. Sorry the pics suck, they are scans of 20 year old polaroids.







If I was Mercury, I would have put them on the GT's from them factory.

OEM is the way to go !! Why mess with the Original Design ?? We've installed them on four Mavericks, and THREE
Comets and they look great . Adds to the overall look of the cars.
