Here's mine, I just put them back in again after swapping out the ammeter for a voltmeter. I myself would never have carved up the package tray to mount them, but a previous owner had an 8-track deck and an interior warmer installed there, and I was able to use the existing holes.
I have my guages installed now so I can make a post. This is a 1972 Maverick Grabber with Factory AC. This can present special issues as one has to work around the Grabber light switch and the lower dash tray, which is not very deep on an AC car. I installed the guages directly next to the Grabber light switch, with the guages flush with where the Grabber switch is located. Also note in the picture the dealer installed rear defog switch. When installing this switch in an AC car it makes it very difficult to find a place to mount it with the AC vent located on the driver's side, then the parking brake, then the steering column, then the radio, then the center tray support. This is as far left as one can mount it. It fit perfectly to the left of the Grabber light switch. The guages are white face to match my instument guages. With the guages mounted where I have them.....it is a perfect location because the oil pressure line and the temp guage can easily be routed in an area to the right of the upper plenum and be ran out the factory holes for the heater core (on a non-AC car...those holes would be used for the heater core. Since this is an Factory AC car, these factory holes have rubber plugs in them...so no drilling required!!) No cutting was required of the dash tray.
Whew...that was funny!! The engine is still in another car. It needs to be pulled, rebuilt, detailed, and put in the car. I also have lots of other wrok to do. So....no, it won't be ready.
But take out work, kids, T-Ball, yard wrok, honey doo lists, and sleep....I only have about 20 minutes to get it ready.
I just post some pics in my gallery this weekend, but I don't know how to post a link to them. maybe this will work http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/browseimages.php?c=8&userid=2156
Thanks, I even put the highbeam & signals in but they don't line up. I had a hard time tring to get a cordless drill to make holes in stainless steel.
