Oh ok thank you sir. you got any other options you can suggest me on how to design the hood? i can always leave it stock, just finish sanding, fill holes and paint it. but i want something more than that. looking for an easy good looking cheap option i guess :).

i like the idea of what i think the hood was supposed to look like.
to me it looks like they tried to mold a 68 shelby mustang hood scoop on to it and put to heat extractor vents on the sides.
    heres a shelby hood

i would say finish that hood. i would open up the front of the shelby scoops also.

I'm just gonna fix up the scoop i took down and put it back.this time the right way.

anyone knows how do i install a scoop the right way? the owners before me drilled holes to the hood as you can see in the picture. somehow i don't think its the right way to do it. i can look it up on the internet but if you got some fast answers you would save me time searching them :).

When you mentioned using "Grabber" hood scoops, the ones that fit in my Grabber hood are the only scoops known as "Grabber" on a Maverick - I think we are talking about two different things - are you talking about the Mustang/Torino scoop that fits on top of the carb and sticks through a hole in the hood?

Throw that scoop away, it looks gross on there.

I'm considering all kind of things right now. Taking my time doing the right decisions for me. Dave can you tell me what's the difference between a grabber and a stock besides the hood?. I'm asking that to know if I can put the grabbers side stripes on the stock body. I'm hoping it's the same.

Nothing really, it was a trim level, but had it's own vin designation. Depending on the year, some Grabbers also had a rear spoiler, and some had the spoiler without the hood, and some had neither. You can put Grabber stripes on the side of your car.

That's good to know. I like the grabber stripes a lot, and I accepted the fact that I can't get it back to an original, classic state. The plus side is that no one in Israel would say " grabber stripes on stock maverick? Weird." So I can go crazy and no one but you guys will notice :).

You have come to the right place to learn everything about your car :)

You don't have to put any scope on your hood right now if you are not sure of the type that you want - just leave it flat for now until you find a nice scoop that you like - no hurry (y)
