Now that's what I'm talkin' about! It ought to hit pretty hard.

It will be a prime candidate for alcohol.

That's got me thinking about those who think compression is over-rated. They may be on to something. My truck has 17:1 AND a turbo and it will barely get out of its own way!

I forgot to mention the bore is being taken out to .125 increasing cubes to 427.
I think anything can be overated, but when it comes to producing raw HP, compression, lift, head flow, and cubes and how they work together are crucial.
I want to push the envelope of maximum HP with a N/A small block, I wander what that would be?

A friend of mine knows the owner of Probe Industries and he claims they built a 427W with Blue Thunders that made just over 1000hp N/A. The same heads on a 347 made just shy of 800hp.

I'd like to see the flow numbers on those heads, surely the comp and lift were maxed out, those are some wicked HP numbers for a smal block.

Do a search on hardcore50.com message board. They discuss the Blue Thunder head flow and the owner of Probe is on there constantly. His name I think is Mark O'Neal and he has about 7000 posts. There are many other big name engine and racer guys/gals on there. Very interesting reading on that site.

    Yes, that is him.

Rick, I don't recall all of the details since we talked about this a couple of years ago but I am sure that it was an all out effort.

Fred I did a google last night on Blue Thunder and one of the shops that sold them could do a stage 4 CNC that flowed 410i and 365e on small block heads...absolutely insane numbers for a small block head.
