So I'm in the process of installing the AJE K Member with there supplied struts, SN95 spindles with Willwood brakes. I scaled everything that came off and what is going on...

67lb is your savings and that is components only. I'm sure once I cut the towers and remove the original engine mount/control arm supports it will be close to 100lbs of total weight savings. Just wanted to share this .

what was the cost of this kit? IM thinking of going m2 or rack and pinion but the kits are very costly. I have some money put up but I want to spend it wisely

I've seen similar results on many of the mustang sites and this is the kit I'll eventually move towards as well. and exactly for this reason.

well.. also because it is a superior design to the M2 setups when it comes to drag and road racing duty.

A macpherson setup is by no means superior to an SLA setup even if that SLA setup Is an MII
Youll have a flatter contact patch on both straight aways and corners with a SLA setup versus strut...which equals better handling

with that said, the R&C M2 kit isnt ideal either
Their kit needs The better Spindle (Wilwood Pro) and a fatter swaybar

lol.. that might be true in a the general sense for an all out technical comparison.. but that's not even near the case when it comes to comparing the SLA stuff we're actually talking about here. These MII designs were made for packaging purposes.. and packaging purposes only. Also good to keep in mind that lighter weight parts wins races too.

Was simply saying that the added loss in sprung weight and OVERALL weight savings of this type of design can easily offset some of the other disadvantages that may also come along with the strut design. They're used in far more than just drag only cars.

As an example.. scale the front tire weight of one of these nose heavy cars with a MII installed.. and then compare it to this threads particular system. Idealized geometry or not.. lighter front ends with less sprung weight can more easily turn corners and hold onto bumpy roads pretty darned well.

    Struts have poor camber..
You can get alot more with stock style afterm market parts
that and contact patch and wheel lifting(can happen with any setup with rollbar/cage) are why allot of late model cars like mustangs ditch them

I'll be taking lots of pictures. I will post things up as I go. I'll be cutting the factory control arm/engine mounts out tomorrow night.

Good deal...curious to see how it progresses, and what kind of room you have afterwards.
