I thought I would pass this information on about a show that I plan on attending in central Texas in June. (Maybe we could have more than one Maverick or Comet there)? How about a very informal mini-meet? ;)

    TEXAS ALL-FORD
    2nd ANNUAL PICNIC AND GET-TOGETHER
    JUNE 8-9, 2007
    MAX STARCKE PARK
    SEGUIN, TEXAS
    RAIN OR SHINE

SPONSORED BY THE TEXAS REGIONAL CHAPTERS
    FORD FALCON CLUB OF AMERICA

    OPEN TO ALL FORD-POWERED VEHICLES

This is your chance to sit and visit with old Ford friends and maybe even make a few new ones. Max Starcke Park has been voted one of the nicest city parks in the State of Texas, and includes a huge covered pavilion which has been rented for the entire day on Saturday. Surrounding the pavilion are hundreds of huge pecan trees and acres of soft, cool grass. A shady spot to park your car is guaranteed!

Just like last year, this will not be a judged event. So bring your Ford, whatever condition. You don’t even need to wash it! No awards. No judging. No banquet. No door prizes. No hospitality suite. No goodie bags. No T-shirt. Just food, fun, music and good company. Admission is only $10 per car. Walk-ins are free.

Information provided by Frank Bell, owner of a spectacular '76 Maverick Stallion

Frank and I plan on bringing at least 2, maybe 3, including the Stallion and the 76 LDO with <18k miles.

I put it on the calendar and we will try to make it if nothing else pops up...

Bring the kids/grandkids. The meet is at a city park with a ton of playground equipment and softball diamonds. There is also a wave pool (costs about $4 for all day for adults).

The part of the park that we have reserved (for our exclusive use) is bordered by the Guadalupe River and has a fishing pier.

I have been to car shows all over the US, and this place beats the heck out of a hot asphalt parking lot.

You come once and I guarantee, you'll want to come back.

We may get there friday night late. Can we camp on the grounds? Dog friendly?

Just need to know so we can make whatever arrangements we need to make.

I am south of Houston, meeting up with us anywhere but at Sequin would be WAY out of your way...

And we will likely trailer or dolly the car that distance. Especially in the heat of the summer.

The New Braunfels Car Club has a cruise in on Friday nights at a local drive-in. I will be going to that. There will not be any activities at the show grounds.

Sorry, the park closes at midnight. No camping allowed.

The city does have RV hook-ups at the convention center across the street and does allow RV camping in that parking lot.

I should have the car running and street legal again by then, and hope to make it. I also shot this link to a new member out of Corpus, and hopefully he can come and meet some of us...

It's still in my plans to be down there on Saturday. Sounds like fun!

Any other Maverick owners going to make it besides Scott and me?
