I agree. Need a tach meter in these cars with the mods a lot of them are getting but I personally am not thrilled with the idea of cluttering up the dash area with lots of extra gauges, etc. Detracts from the "classic" look of the cars IMO, though I understand the neccessity of doing so. This is a great addition to the functionality of the car without being obtrusive in the least. Another "Ford Should Have/Could Have" that took a dedicated Maverick/Comet guy to create! ((40 years later!!)

Got it installed in the car today. I had it in once before as a mock-up, just to make sure it fit. I added a 2-wire plug-in for the ALT light so I can add it somewhere if I want, without removing the cluster itself.

If anything, it will probbaly be a do-it-yourself kit. Way too much time involved in mass-producing complete units for an affordable price. I think I am going to make some templates and instructions to go with the aluminum gauge plates and overlays. The rest of the work is not difficult, just very time-consuming.

I'm just drooling over this. Couple of questions. What oem fuel gauge are you using? Is it the photo or is the aluminum in the center more dull than the center of the speedometer? If so can that be polished or turned so that they match better? That's all for now.

The tach plate is engine-turned to match the speedo. The center is not bare aluminum, but has a greenish-blue transparent covering. I did my best to replicate it, but it not perfect, but is better in real life than the photo suggests. Not all the clusters I have are identical in color either, and some don't match from side to side. I believe the UV rays have an effect on the transparency and coloring. I am still researching a better way to color the centers.
I also have some plates with the centers cut out to reveal the original background behind. I had 10 of each type made. Either one uses the same vinyl overlay.

Thats great!, Looks very stock! We need more guru's that have a interest in Mavericks. As everyone here know's there is'nt much after market support for the Maverick lovers out there.
