When the odometer that's currently in it rolls 63,582 miles, that will mark 100,000 miles I've put on the car since January 2006. As of pulling in the driveway this evening, it's reading 57,449. Don't know how many miles are actually on the body itself, but it's either 228,000 or 328,000. As of right now, I've driven 104,000 miles in a Maverick since April 28, 2005, including the 10,000 miles I put on my '74 Grabber.

I think I've drove mine about 6000 or so miles altogether. The good thing about these cars is you can rebuild one if basic tolls and a little knowldge:dance:

Yea, plus you can adapt parts from so many other cars on them, I just love it. I would have already hit 100,000 in this car a while ago if I hadn't of been driving my '89 Chevy truck daily from August to October. The float started leaking in the old Rochester carb and I had a hard time finding another, plus it did and still does need front ball joints and an alignment, but I'm just glad to have it back up and running with that new float, and going like hell to hit 100,000 by the end of the year.

Every single day my friend. When you fix cars for a living every day is an adventure. At least my Mav is always a low stress old school repair no matter what it throws at me. Its my escape back to simpler times so I dont really mind its problems and yes sometimes I think it hates me also. Its my toy though and I bought it to tinker with. If I had nothing left to do on it I'd likely get bored and sell it for another project. A Mav or Comet obviously. I really enjoy working on it and I'm sure I wont run out of things to do anytime soon. By the time I start to finish off the ever growing list, I'll find things I want to change or improve by then, so its all good. :thumbs2:

I had that "temper" problem alot......I ended up buying a cheap junker body just for taking my anger out on it instead of the good, expensive stuff I'm working on

It seems to me that as you set off on getting something fixed on an old car, you almost always find something else (or 2 or 3 more items) that need attention.

Combine that with a short span of attention, and very little actually gets "done" ...

I keep my temper under control with a radio.....To quote William Congreve: Music hath charms to sooth the savage breast, soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak".
and yes I know it says breast not beast but this is the original quote...I think he was meaning a fast beating heart...who ever saw a savage breast anyhow?.......WAIT before you answer that.....have you ever met MY WIFE? :tiphat:
