I don't think I could put together two chunks of aluminum and throw in two shocks for that price.:biglaugh:

If someone could draw up a design in CAD, I could pass it around to a few people I know to get a price on it.

Well I don't have them in my hands, but looking at your pictures I bet I could get a pair on my car in a weekend with little trouble (and a bit of expense). That's just on the fender though I don't know what it looks like past that since its not pictured.

OTOH, we don't know for certain he is modifying mustang hinges, we just know that he is modifying an existing hinge.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
only one hole will match up everything else is 100% off totally. unless you decide to drill new holes in your fender then yeah anything will work. the top side will match up no problem, depth is also right on.

You don't think it would be possible to remove the attachment plate off the hinge, and put on a new plate? Because that would be the first approach I would take. That would usually be the easiest thing to do. I can't really postulate on it too much since I don't have the hinges, and I don't have it in my budget to get one, but I know I could come up with a fairly simple conversion if I did. Or had some better pics to work with.

I've actually got a pretty good idea rattling around in my head right now, I'll take a look at my car after work and ask if anyone else thinks its feasible. Like I said before though, a conversion plate would be pretty simple to design.

I was thinking the same thing. Just make a new fender plate but didnt he also mentioned "the hinge part matches up. but is located in the wrong position. which in turn would make the hood close wrong". So does it close differently as in it will still work or does wrong mean it will not work? A new base plate would be easy to have done and once completed, just sell it to EMS or someone for a completed set.

Yea and that's the part that I don't know yet either. Maverick Man didnt expand upon that at all. I imagine even that though would not be too difficult to overcome, and if we are putting it on a new plate anyway it may be possible to do some re-engineering on the hinge to make it work. It's the sort of thing I used to do all the time when I refurbished machinery, take parts that are close to what you need and do light modifications. Sadly I don't have the budget to do it at home myself, just the skills.

I'm certain there are many people on this board that could solve it though just as easily as I could.
