What is "L-60" in the metric format. I have 255/60r15 and they rub on launch. the 245 didn't. So I want to roll the lips to keep the wear off the tires. I don't know what L-60 means...
Not sure in metric, but Summit list a MT Indy profile L 60 15 as 28" OD with a 9.5 tread width, and a BF Goodrich P 275/60 15 as a 28" OD with a 8.9 tread width, so a 275 is the same height as the L 60 only .6" narrower....
The "L" designates the load capacity of the tire, the "60" is the width to height ratio. All tires used to be rated with the letter first, then the aspect ratio, then the rim size. F and G were probaly the most common, such as a F 78 14 or a G 70 15. The higher the letter, the more weight the tire could carry, the lower the number, the shorter and wider the tire was. The only problem was, no two tire makers sizes were the same, I have bought two differnt G 70's and one would be wider or maybe taller than the other one. I think that is why they went to the p metric sizes, they are all supposed to be the same even from different makers.
me I fit a set of 28/10.5 mt slicks under mine with a small ball peen to get it started then used a flat faced 3lb body hammer and love tapped it around in a nice arc gave me a 1/4 inch or so (it folded flat to the inner sheet metal and let a 1/4 lip on the inside it's not flat against the inner fender just the outside 1/4-1/2inch is bent straight up) now it only rubs on the inside of the right wheel wheel I'll take some pics this weekend to try out the new camera and retake some of the engine picts
