Just go ahead & give 'em to me. They're junk LOL.

Seriously, with the right combination the RPMs will make good power. Been running some 6.70's with the Mustang at 2500 lbs + driver...which is what? 10.60's in the 1/4 (we run 1/8 and 1000'). No reason they couldn't be ported & make some nice power. Dad's run some 6.60's I think on his RPM heads but his car is a little heavier and the MPH was down some compared the the Junkstang. Everyone says they can't possibly run that well with unported RPM heads, but I have timeslips to prove it wrong. They'll work just fine. What most people do is under-cam the engine for the heads and they're afraid to spin some RPM. I shift the junkstang at 6800, cross line at about 6900 (306, KB116 pistons, stock rods & crankshaft, RPM airgap intake, Erson solid flat tappet cam--240 duration and .575 lift I believe, C4, 3000 stall 10" PTC converter that is WAYYYY too tight..needs about 4000-4200 stall; 35 spline 9" rear with 4.86 gears and 28x9-15 ET Drags).

Not to say Canfields or TFS, AFR, or anyone else has "bad" heads...they usually just cost more. What do the 165's cost?? $1300? RPMs are $1000 give or take...and I usually buy them without springs. The set on the Mustang-they're only the 1.90 valves instead of the 2.02's, bought them used with rockers already on them for $700 and they had I think about 5 minutes run time on them. Didn't even have carbon in the chambers yet.

I must be doing something wrong. I've got more compression, more camshaft same intake, basicly the same carburetor and I'm barely putting 300 down to the wheels.
could be in the converter/transmission though. we'll see after I get this new converter in if there's any change. Curing the hot running problem should help out some too.
