I just bought a 72 Maverick 200-6/c4 car and am planning a mild (300-325hp) 302 and AOD swap. I’ll have about a million questions. Please be patient with me. I’ve built a car and bikes before but I’m new to the maverick.

Are there shorty headers that will fit without modifications?

Frank (71 Gold) makes a crossmember kit for the AOD swap, there’s several members that have done the swap and will answer your questions. I won’t be much help as I’m a 3 pedal man.

Welcome! I bought and have test fit the Hedman 88408 shorties. They fit with no issue but from what I have read there is potential for interference between the pitman arm and the exhaust pipe where it attaches to the header.

Saw that you make a crossmember for an aod transmission? Was reading where another member used it for a t5 and he said it worked pretty good. I'm getting ready to do a tkx in my 73 and wondered if I might buy one, thanks.
