Nope, nope, nope.... Balance change in '82 reguardless of type engine. That's the point Ford cheapened crank by removing weight, at that point all 302/5.0 were 50 oz. I've owned four non HO 5.0 T-Birds from '86-'88, all 50 oz. Go ahead and bolt it together, you'll have a giant paint shaker.
Hey thanks for all your input on this . I dont know why every parts place a called has said they take a 28 0z . I have the flex plate off is there anyway to identify it? Also have the harmonic balancer off the 87 cougar . Again thanks for all your knowledge on this Matter...
The 50 oz weight should be slightly larger. Flexplate 50 oz, I looked up '87. Ford E2 part number originated 1982 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=65756&cc=1140231&jsn=692 Flexplate 1972 part number originated 1963. C3AZ-6375-L, first year 289, the 289 & early 302 use same flexplate. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=65726&cc=1132153&jsn=798
