AOD (yes) install...

    Frank, or anyone else for that matter, do the AOD's differ in the trucks from year to year. My father-in-law has a '90 Van with 302/AOD combo. He said he'd sell it to me cheap for the motor and trans. I didn't know if the combo would fit. Guess I'll have to watch this thread for results......

    more done

    we (they) got the aod in and bolted up.(y)
    trans. lines reflared and installed(y)
    they got the ...stock floor shift linkage...bent and installed. it shifts with the detents on the shifter..(y)
    taking my ...driveshaft in and getting it shortened 1"... it will work like it is but he said 1" cut off would make him happier...(y)

    the parts/mods. for my AOD install /conversion...

    i used... the Lokar throttle cable..(BOLT ON)

    i used the stock floor shifter and rod...bent rod to fit.. (MOD)

    i used the stock trans. mount...moved it back 2".. (MOD)

    i used the... Lokar tv cable..(BOLT ON)

    i used my satock driveshaft...(bolt on)
    i used my ...starter..(BOLT ON)

    i used the...OEM-E0AZ-6375-A flexplate..(BOLT ON)

    i used the AOD sheetmetal motor plate..(BOLT ON)

    i have 6901 headers...i had my muffler guy heat the tubes on the pass. header and bend the collector to the outside about one and a half inches..(MOD) this was to clear the AOD pan.

    i used the AOD mounting bolts, they are longer than the C4..(BOLT ON)

    So the stock shift lever can be rotated 180 degrees hugh? sweet. Do you have to take out the whole thing from the inside or can it be done externally? I need to get back to my swap. Car has been on jackstands for 3 weeks. Been too busy and low on money.
