Most auto transmissions I have messed with, rotating the arm is fairly easy by removeing the nut that holds it on and simply flipping it over. The have like little notches on either side.
Ryan, the "shift lever" i am talking about here is the one on the AOD . the one on the "floor shifter" i removed and heated/reshaped to hook up to the trans. but yes it did come out 180 degrees from what it was stock also. ... ...
did i mention i the car yesterday :bananaman . i went by the shop and he wanted me to it so he could set the "tv rod". after a few attempts at setting it, he was not happy with the way it shifted. the hookup on the holley carb left it too sloppy....i am going to Summit today and get the Lokar tv cable and carb bracket. they have one for the holley/aod combo. ...will keep ya'll posted as it happens... ...one happy camper...frank...
Awesome news. I will play with my shifter tomorrow and see if I can duplicate what you did. If I can get that set up to work that saves a couple hundred bucks I thought I was going to have to spend on a shifter. Then all I have to do is finish my crossmember and bend or cut my headers away from the tranny pan
Frank , do you realize all of us are riding with you when you test drive it?? Glad you are payin for the gas!!!!!!!!!!! Dan
...after i got to Summit i saw that Lokar makes a throttle cable that will work on my setup also . i say "will" work...will know monday. i was told today that..stephen moore...has one on his car...maybe he will confirm this for me . Ryan, shoot me a p.m....i have an idea about your ...headers... just don't tell anyone. ... ...
The Lokar throttle cables use a Clevis type end on the pedal side. Ford apparently used 2 type of throttle pedals in the Maverick. One uses a loop connector with a pin and the other has a ball on the end. If you have the loop type it should be easier to hook up. Not sure if it was a US vs Canadian build thing or what An adapter will need to made to fit the ball type.
Must be new the ones I saw are like this http://www.lokar.com/interior_pages/products/throttlecables_kd/images/tc_hitech.jpg
LOK-TC-1000U that's it...the ball is what holes the clevis on... when i first saw it i was wondering how i was going to hook it up after getting it home i took it apart and found the ball ... ...
