april 17 1969 That was 39 years ago and just 1 day before my 17th birthday. How fast time has gone by.I guess this means I can celebrate today and tomorrow. MAVERICK
Happy birthday JT I was 9 years old when the mav was introduced. I had been playing guitar for about 6 months at that point, and was building model cars and hoarding Hot Wheels like crazy (they were intro'd in 1968). I also got to hang out with my much-older second cousin who drag raced an alcohol front engine dragster. He moved on to an alcohol funny car. Permanently warped my litttle mind. Good times!
Ha! That's funny (and also sounds like me - only I was about 65 pounds of twisted steel! lol) I see you are still trying to get rid of your space ship on craigslist.org. Link: Space Ship for Sale $3500.00 or best offer]
I was 13 years old! I can remember the commercials, $1995 for a new Maverick, The Simple Machine! Happy Birthday Maverick
I didn't come along for about another 18 years. My dad was 7 years old. My great aunt, who is currently my oldest living relative, was 49 in 1969. Hard to believe she was already almost 50 that long ago, still going strong! I wouldn't be surprised if she lives to be 100.
Thanks CaptainComet. When the Maverick was born I was washing and waxing cars, trucks , and even airplanes, also mom and dads black 63 1/2 fastback 427 galaxie which I ended up getting 2 years later. Wish I still had it. Oh well.
Funny thing I got my Maverick on April 17th two years ago. The paperwork and everything was done that day. So it's kinda like I was my Maverick's present for its birthday.
