I bought another maverick a while ago and it came with a whole buch of extra parts one of which was a used black headliner that the previous owner was able to remove in one piece, it has been rolled up for atleast a year. Can I reuse it or is it too dificult to work with?

Pull on it in an inconspicuous place and see if it stays together. After 40 yrs, its' gonna be pretty dried out. Also, it was trimmed to fit a different car...You may never get it to fit right or well in yours. Just get a new one, you will be much better off all around.
