I have been watching you, stmanser (you better watch your back! ) and would love to have a chance to race you in person!

    Maybe...

if march is good for everyone.. i will call SIR and ask them about reserving the track and costs for a carshow and a drag race off etc...... maybe have the Southern Arizona Ford Group have them organize the whole thing for march and we can get in on it..

i will see what i can do..

If nobody minds I won't have a Maverick to bring by then, but I will have 2 of the Ford's up and going by then.

MotorHeads... thats fine with me.. just as long as you come to the get together :)

This is what i have been working on

    March 18th or 25th
    Southwestern International Raceway

    -or-

    March 18th or 25th
    Firebird International Raceway

All Fords are welcome 1978 and earlier?

Event Show time, around 10am - 5pm with drag qualifying starting at 4pm

I know a guy that is a manager at little anthony's pizza and has a trailer out at SIR during test and tune events... but the track has snacks, hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks and beer... :)

anything that people can think of, reply to this and let me know what i might be forgetting..

    Edit:

I contacted SIR today and they need to know how many people would be participating to see how much it would be to rent the track or to have it in conjunction with a test and tune.

I dont think we would have enough people to warrant a full track rental, but you never know. We might have more people show than we had originally thought.

Everything you have their sounds great to me, we might have enough people to get a rental. Like I said we can pass around the word. :yup:

sir has a lot of car shows in conjunction with there races. i haven't seen a schedule yet. but we could just do it on a race day. anyone that wants to race can, or even test and tune. we could be in an area by ourselves if we wanted to. heck, we don't even need to have a show. just a get together or something. if it's on a race day i'll definitely be there. ususally they have a friday night test n tune also.:) wow, that's wierd. just got a call from sir as i was typing this. they want me to bring my car in wednesday to set it up in the hall for the banquet this saturday.:)

cool.... yeah that is always an option and i think that would be the best option since i dont think we would all be able to come up with the funds to have our own event..

but i will contact the southern az ford club and see if they want to get their guys together at the same time and we could all get in on it... they had a race off the last time they were out there.. about 2 months ago..

spread the word don.. tell all your buddies up there in PHX

We could always just set up a place for everyone to meet at, then do a cruise.

It doesn't absolutley have to be at a track.

    Just throwing out ideas. :)

the problem with a cruise out here... well there really isnt much to cruise to.. We could cruise up the mountain to Mt Lemmon, i suppose. Its a desert, as you well know, and after about 15 miles, it still looks baren and boring.. lol..

but yes.. a cruise is a possibility... just gotta find some areas..

    edit:

i also sent an email today to http://www.samctucson.org/ to see if they wanted to partake in the awesome adventure we were going to have in march. we will just wait and see what they say

they have an event already scheduled for March 18th.. this might be our ticket...we shall see
Town of Marana Founder's Day Show Car Event
    Classic & Hot Rod Heaven
    March 18th, 2006
    Ora Mae Harn Park
Presented by Associated Technologies in Automotives
