    Definately " DoorSlammers "

His explanation of the dynamics of a chassis and what is really happening is excellent .

Although some of his info on chassis material should have been researched more .

The tires are 31.5 x 14 wide, the axle housing is 42in, bearing flange to bearing flange. The right side housing from center of pinion is 20.5in, the left is 21.5. The axles are right side=24.5 from back of wheel flange to end of splines, left is 21in. The axle measurements are calculated by Moser engineering with full spool in the carrier. Working on the tubs today(major PITA) soon as they are in this pm, will get pic's of wheels and tires on the car. The wheel wells had to be cut out slightly but mavman's expertise with a body saw leaves an amazing little difference in looks. Later guys.

    REAR...

Dangit.... I forgot.... I was also wondering.. you went with the 31x14.....
My choice is going to be a 31x18.5

Was the frame tubing already welded...and you had to cut to fit or you cut and welded.. each piece..
Reason I'm asking is Some kits come with the pieces already welded and you have to cut to fit... WAS CURIOUS>>
    Thanks,.... ::: Ron :::

    OLD GUY

THANKS>>>>>>>> your doing a fine job......I actually worked on mine a little tonight,,,,,
I'm so curious.... though... from the side view it apprears
that you have somewhat alot a space from the outside side wall
of the tire... and the fender lip.....
You coulda went BIGGER TIRE HUH ?????? as in WIDDER???
ONLY curious to know that cause of the Tire combo
    I chose... to use.....
I'm not picking at any way.....please dont take it the wrong way.... I'm not like that.......

MY next question... would be conserning...the HEAD LINER

See... I have mine in... NOTHING WRONG WITH IT!!!!!
have you thought of what your intensions are for the HEADLINER....... whats your views on that ?????

This is great to be on here and share the pictures.. and experance...And Ideas.... mostly IDEAS... wow its cool how we all... can think of something that the other hasnt thought of.. or
have diffrent views... on the same subject......

Talk at ya later....... Doing a GREAT job... OLD GUY....

Actually the pictures are a bit deceiving, there is only about 1/4in clearance. The fender lip was rolled years ago to clear the 10.5 tires that were on there with stock width rear end. Wider tires might be possible if you get a wheel with more backspace because there is some room on the inside to work with, excluding disc brake clearance problems if you run them. This mav was gutted and raced for the last 12 years so no headliner used. Don't know if one could be used with the same roll cage because some welding is required in the car on the the upper halo etc. after installation. Four point probably would but then the actual use of the four link is comprimised because the 10 and 12 point cages actually are needed to make the system work properly and plant the ponies to the ground. Mind you, this car is for the track only and other combo's would suffice for street cars etc. Hope the front end job goes easier, too much work on the backhalf for this ancient person(if you call sitting on a stool and supervising, work)

The rear is only mocked together right now. When I add the rear brake rotors, the tires will be moved outward approx. 3/8" per side. Also, the tires are not "final". They are merely freebies that were given to me for set up purposes, I might/might not go with larger tires later on. But for right now, the 31.5x14's will work just fine.
