Check out that plate: in TOW, See you at "Bridge" Is that a single sidepipe? Was that the I6 that was in it when it raced? Just curious how much work he had in it. I am sure you will give new life to that old racer. Good luck with the project Barry from another Long Island Maverick owner.
Yes single I6 side pipe ..dont know whats dun to the motor ..I have a beast of a 302 I am putting in her..with a T5 and hyd clutch setup..yea just could not get your mav out of my head..fish out of water... thats why i found another one..you going to the car show at the airport sunday????
I don't know. I thought that it looked pretty cool just as it was. Think of it as "patina". Some old cars are just better off left unrestored because the grime, wear and tear, dents and scratches and numerous layers of paint showing thru tell so many stories. I would have restored this car mechanically, maybe even raised the bar a bit, but left the cosmetics "as-is". Nevertheless, it's all a matter of taste and I'm sure it'll be a cool car when you're finished with it. Good luck AUSSIEBJ
John I here ya, I would have loved to leave it that way but racing scantions frown on cars that are cosmeticly patina`d....
here she is with street rubber....rears are too big 27 x 11.50 x15 so they are up for sale in the parts section
Sorry for the late response. I couldn't make it. Would like to have gone but I really needed some sleep and Sunday was my only chance. Woke up at 11:30
My race front sump oil pan finally showed up ..now i can install the motor and tranny..has anyone used thoes Ron Morris engine mounts they make for early mustangs ..maybe they will fit a mav????
Just got caught up on your build thread Looking forward to following your progress - really enjoyed your last build
It always amazes me what a set of wheels will do for the look of a ride...here is the right size tire that fits .I bought some MT ET streets .255 X60x15`s on a 15x 8 rim its tight to the leaf but a 1/4 inch spacer will fix that
I just picked up my Grabber hood, now I have all the parts for the outside.. I like the look of these Brazillian racing mavs..
