This is how much i had to cut out to get the look i wanted on the underside. Going for non factory, factory look. Still need to add some braces to it.. It will give me an extra 1 1/2" that should be good enough.
Been trying to decide on a color even though im not ready for it. Did this one today on a spare rusty door. Not sure if it has the wow factor im after. This one is candy blue over titaninum pearl with blue pearl in the clear. i do like this one
Also worked on changing over to power windows. I got one of them done. i saved the templete of the added bracing so i can use on the other side. that one shouldnt take as long...... When i do the other door i need to fasten down the spring somehow before i take out the handle shaft...... lesson learned..... i will take a picture of the motor mounted tomorrow.
Are they stock regulators and what elec. motors will you use? I have installed many regulators on many make sand models.
They are the stock window regulators. I am using Taurus Window motors they are pretty compact. I may have to make two small spacers for two of the bolts. Right now the regulator is only mounted with three bolts but works great. the spacers will allow me to put the other two bolts back in.
That sounds about right, good luck . I use the vise grip, c clamps to hold the regulator arms in place, when the spring is loaded; Usually across two arms at once.
