We had a little Tbird in the shop last Summer to get the body panels aligned. Its was bought at BJ auction 2 years ago. Paid over 30K for this Tbird. Reason nobody could get the panels perfect is because it had a frame repair and it wasnt even close. Owner wasnt real happy when our body man showed him the measurements. Managed to get it straight but it had to go on the frame machine.
How much did that 56 Desoto sell for, 250k? I got a front bumper/grill/turn signal setup for one of those in my backyard. Found it in the desert years ago. Its got to be worth atleast $5000 if the car is worth $250k. Anybody want to buy it?
I was looking at buying an automotive machine shop here in town about 5 years ago and the guy was showing me around. We stumbled on to this one build he was doing and I was stunned to see that he knurled the pistons. Since I knew that this guy did good work I had to ask what was up. His comment was that the guy that owned the car didn't want to put a lot into the motor. I must have looked at him oddly because he replied, "Yeah, I'd never do it myself but the guy that owns it is selling it at Barrett-Jackson this year and it will never see more than 1000 miles in it's lifetime going on and off the trailer."
