I am finally starting a bracket car project and was curious what pans you racers are using in a stock chassis configuration.

I just bought one for my 306, it didnt fit it was way off on the back to seal. I returned it and give them bad feed back fir bad service n not replying to messages, they block me. There is like 3 different seller names but all run from the same place. I ended up buying a Scott drake boss pan from summit. I also har a guy built me a 347 few years ago had one of this Chinese oul pans 7 qt. Fit was good even with power steering linkage.

EBay is getting worse and worse all the time about blocking bad feed back. I have had more trouble with their vendors in the past year than in the previous 20 years. It making Amazon look better and better. in spite of its owner.

I looked at a picture of the inside of that pan. Is what they are calling a crank scraper close enough to the crank to scrape it? I am kind of lost on the whole oil pan exercise, but understand the need to keep the sump supplied and keep oil off the rotating parts. I want to understand it well enough to modify a stock pan....maybe...lol. Only if I think I can create something good. Been youtubing it, but am a ways off of pan worries too.

Check out some windage trays. Sounds like what you might be thinking about.

That is it, runs down the passenger side of the pan. It's not a true scraper, more of a way to direct oil back to the pan. It interferes with the main girdle but that was the only issue with the pan.

I am closer but still so far away! I keep over thinking things and dragging certain projects out. I want to avoid mistakes I've made in the past then find myself just reinventing them!

I strive to not repeat the same mistakes, but realize new ones are inevitable (n)
