the side marker issue is just a small sacrifice for an over all greater improvment to the look of the car

like i said, still not as nice as smalls but definatly an improvment

I put ONLY those two options on the poll because I knew that if I included "convert it to small bumpers" that it would get 90% of the vote. :rofl2:

Rando, I like the tuck. I think some are right in that you would need to fill the side markers or.... you could cut a section out of the sides of the bumpers. Looks kind of like Chris did this to his but I don't know.

Sectioned? Do you mean that you removed a portion or cut if off and re-curled the ends?

I like the tuck, anything that takes some girth out of those is an improvement.

A hacksaw and a lot of time

Anyways, I was thinking about doing this to mine, but after seeing what itll look like Ill have to keep the big bumpers jutting out 5 feet in front of the car, as a few others said it doesnt look natural...I dont know why...maybe because Im used to the jutting out look.

I ain't done it yet but I'm thinking just cut the plate off the I-beam then cut 3" or so off the I-beam and weld the plate back on.

I was thinking the same thing for my 73.

Then shave off part of that aluminum backed rubber thing.

...and yes it's name has eluded me at this time.

I am thinking about tucking the bumpers on my 73 also. What I plan to do is move the mounting holes on the frame rearward about two inches and just move the mounting bracket back and bolt it on. To do this I need to get thread inserts to put into the frame, which I am pretty sure I can get from a company named Penn. Then I just need to trim the gravel shield a little.Does anybody see a reason this won't work?
