Oooooh! That is a sucky situation. He screwed up, or his guys did, and he sorta admitted it.

I don't have any wise-ass thing to say at this point. Sorry...

Id say...the builder should build you a new short block with no labor charge. You buy the components at his price. If he wont do it, we put the word out, :naughty: let him deal with the manufacturer.(y) But im being too soft:rant2:

I just saw this. Sorry to hear about this Robbie.

So if ARP Rod Bolts are doing this...what other brands/models of Rod Bolts do you other members recommend using on these high performance 302's???

Have you thought about calling BBB? Forgetting to torque rod bolts is pretty amateur. And I should know, I'm a proffesional amateur :)

    Robbie,

Which ARP rod bolts did the shop use, Std. HP, Wav-Loc HP, or the Pro Wav-loc?
I have just sent ARP an email referencing this thread and asking for response..................Reason being that I am getting ready to order the replacement ARP rod bolts along with new head studs....................

    Thanks
    John

I hate to say it but I have no idea which one. :( They looked like stock bolts to me.

Very sorry to hear about your motor :(

Robbie, I am planning on getting a set of heads done next week and just refered one of my friends to a local reputable FORD machine shop....... Would you mind sending me a PM with the name of this machine shop, I dont want to end up there or send one of my friends there.

My guy has built me 3 motors so far with no trouble, but early this week I heard from a friend of a bad build last month out of his shop. I just want to make sure yours didn't come out of the same shop. IF so I am looking for a new machinest......... again :(

Sorry to hear that Robbie. I too would be interested in who the shop is. I use a guy in Tucson for my machine work. Mike Criss' Machine shop. I highly reccommend him. I also know a couple of guys in the Phoenix area.:)
