I worked on the grill a little this morning. Currently waiting on some paint to dry before I get back on it this evening. The center part is the hardest part. So far I havn't found a way to have it made. I had to make it by hand and it took some time. This may become optional like everything else lol. All the mock ups are on a thin plate. The actual plate is fairly thick. So far everyone who has seen it agrees that the weight shouldn't be a problem. It should be durable. The mesh may be the weakest part of it but we'll see. I'll have additional pics later this evening.
Gene, Just a thought here, instead of one standard blinker on each side you could put new styled lights and sockets top and bottom of the grill behind it and set up a sequential controller. so that it would be amberish flames and when the blinker runs it sequentially fires away from the center. with the brighter bulbs, they dont have to be directly in the way of your airflow but beaming from behind the metal into the open space....
Thanks for the ideas. I will reflect back to them after I get one done. I am trying to make it where I can whip one out if someone was to want one. Any lighting ideas might be up to the buyer. I am actualy trying to make the lights an add on because I see that some guys have them down under. Thanks.
I guess I should just post the link to where I will be putting all the pics. They are not all in there yet. Going out to dinner now. Be back later. http://s298.photobucket.com/albums/mm274/blugene_2008/Maverick grill project/
The proto type is done and waiting to see IF it will fit. Today I discovered that the angle needs a slight tweek . It is a little rough but I need to see how it is fitting before I can massage it again. And thinking about it just now, I forgot to put on the center support tabs Here are a couple more pics.
