Thanks, but I guess if the price is close I'd rather have chrome. Both are probably too expensive.

to chrome, the parts have to have the pits filled with a metal filler. with the painted chrome, they can be filled with body filler...it should be cheaper...:yup:
i asked about getting some boomarangs chromed, the Guy said all the pits had to be drilled to a uniform size and filled. the cost was per pit...

i personally think it would look the best on your car over chrome or any other color kinda like a grabber theme sprint!(y)

I sent an email with pictures to Southern Bumper to get their esitmate for chrome. On the phone they guessed it would be $125-$150 for each bezel but I'll wait for the estimate. I really think chrome would look best. For the work involved its probably not a bad price but its hard to justify $300. Think I'll let it simmer for a while.

Guess so -- I told her it was pot metal. Haven't heard back with an estimate yet.

That is probably a fair price for pot metal.

I've seen samples of the spray on chrome. There is a guy near me that does it. He had a engine cover from a LS Corvette that he did, it looked like chrome metal, even though it was plastic! I'm planning on building my own grill for the 36 out of heavy wire, then have him spray it.

I've got one of his cards somewhere, I'll just have to find it. Tidwell Customs in Brilliant, AL. Not sure if he ever got his website up or not.

I called Tidwell's this morning. Got a guesstimate of $250 for both, "maybe a little less". Close to the guesstimate for chrome from Southern Bumper but I haven't heard back from them since I emailed pictures. Maybe they didn't like what they saw.

This is the process Tidwell uses. http://www.goldtouchinc.com/cosmichrome/ They say its looks like real chrome. Pictures look good. Probably not as tough as chrome but probably tough enough for bezels.

Yep, that's him. Just found his card this afternoon but see that you have already found him. From what I've seen, he does good work and the stuff is simply amazing. I'm planning on using him in the future when I get farther along on the truck.
