    I found this one in a junkyard today. The buck tag was hanging on by a thread, so off it came. The car originally was a 250 automatic with a floor shifter and tan bucket seats. It also had a brown halo vinyl top and brown inserts in the side moldings. The VIN plate read:
    3X91L332883
    3 = 1973
    X = St. Thomas plant
    91 = 62A two door
    L = 250
    332883 = unit #
    The rest of the decal read
    Color - 6E Medium Bright Yellow
    Trim - PU Light Tan LDO option
    Trans - C4 automatic
    Axle - 2.79:1
    DSO - Philadelphia, Pa

    On the buck tag the upper right hand corner is missing, but the numbers 02 appear right before the missing piece of the tag. I'm guessing the BUK on the tag indicates the car had bucket seats and the FLR 03 is for the floor shifter but I have no idea what the LDG or SPM represents.

    LDG = Luxury Decor Group

    VTF = I would think this would refer to the Vinyl top and color of said top.

    I have a buck tag on a car I just recieved from by brother. The buck tag is as followed.
    0875 13 16K
    U226XXX 62A 45
    UP
    LO D Yellow Inter A Black
    Not sure what all this means. The door VIN tag was painted over several times and the information is gone.

    RED CAR:
    This was my 1977 red and white 4dr
    [IMG]

    0514 = Rotation Number
    MV54A = Maverick 4dr
    B3 = Atlantic Canada DSO
    16 = ??
    L173401 = Partial VIN
    SPM = ??
    BAG = ??
    RAT = ??
    TT = Two Tone (this is a guess)
    VTW = Vinyl Top White
    2R9D = Bright Red and Polar White
    RED = Interior Colour

    GREEN CAR:
    A 1977 2dr parts car I had at the time. It had green random-stripe cloth bench seats, and not much else as far as options go

    0269 = Rotation Number
    MV62A = Maverick 2dr
    B3 = Atlantic Canada DSO
    14 = ??
    RAT = ??
    4V = Dark Yellow Green Metallic
    GRN = Interior Colour

    It is also note worthy that the green Buck Tag has a colour under the green paint that appears to be TAN. It is evident on the lower right corner and around the word "RAT".

    This is an old post but I'll have to look at my radiator support to see if my tag is still on it - if I can find it next to the garage under a lot of snow :cry:

    First time I have seen this thread. I have never submitted this VIN to Paul's VIN thread, cause I don't know what year it is from. 1972 or later is my guess.

    My guess on RMLR = Remote Mirror Left & Right
    5H = exterior color Ginger Metallic?
    BRN = Interior color?
    Tan = Vinyl top color?
