its definatly not a GT scoop on my car. the scoop on mine cmes to a point in the front middle and where the sides come down looks just like a boss too. its just not as high or wide so im thinking the design was just scaled back

maybe it came from a fox body. I've seen some cool hoodscoops on stock fairmonts and stangs.

    That's a GT/Cougar Scoop.

The mustangs did have a smaller version of this, but are hard to find as well because they only came on a few years also.

Just put a big ol MOPAR Hemi scoop on it. I'm sure that would cover anything!

i thought the GT ones were flat across the front. see how that one comes to a point over the opening and the points on the sides? wernt the GT ones just straight up and straight across the top?

My Comet was a factory GT and had a ford part # hood scoop

It did not come straight up and across.
It angled back... and if IIRC it came down to a small point in the front.

Yup it did... here is a picture

Also, yours may not be a Comet/Cougar part, but an aftermarket piece.
The only difference is the bolt hole pattern, which wouldnt matter if you put it on a maverick as you will have to drill holes anyways.

Unbolt yours and have a look on the bottom, it should have ford part #'s and spots for the studs to be moved around if its a Ford one. Also the mustang ones that were mentioned were about half the width and a little longer, 1968 and 1969 I think, I have one somewhere bought it for my first Mavericks (probably before most of you were born) :)

You'd be surprised at how big a B429 scoop really is.
    They are like 5" tall.
He might have to go to a smaller wing nut.;)
