I was wondering the same thing...should I carry my points/condenser just in case? Never heard any complaints of them breaking or wearing out. No moving parts, and the electronics are in a sealed plastic case...

quickvic and Scott; I have had my Pertronix in my car for over 5yrs, and have had no problems with it at all. I have the Ignitor ll, and it is rock solid. A good thing to do with it is to get a high performance coil to go with it and it will be even better. I use an Acel coil, and it works great.

I am using the Accel Pro Stock (or something like that) that is chrome plated. I am pretty sure it is a little more powerful than the stock coil, but no Flamethrower or MSD.
