Brake light trouble

    replaced my brake light switch. brakes light up in park normally but when in gear the lights only light up when the brake pedal is pushed all the way down or when I'm letting off the brake it lights up real quick. should i reinstall the brake light switch or what could the problem be.

    It sounds like its mis-installed.
    It should light up as soon as the pedal moves down and come off as soon as the pressure is taken off. It should never come on without pressing the pedal - no matter what gear you are in.

    so just re install the switch
