I had a 75 with a mexican block in Brazil! but, when you have a MAV V8 the first thing people ask is this.... is that the Canadian V8??.
On their mind that's the best engine! I don't know why the Canadian engine became so famous over there.

Because the government has prohibited imported cars to be, well, imported to Brazil.

When you say on your sales brochure that the new car you are looking at has a CANADIAN engine......well, it helps you to sell.

Not so many mexican blocks are found in brazilian Mavericks...Canadians are a lot easyer, so they became more popular.......

Also Brazil has a "nickname craze" when it comes to cars......the vw bug with factory sun roof was called on the streets the "cornowagen"......

"corno" is our word for "horn", slang for a "husband that has been cheated".......he´s wife would be a cow, so he would have horns.......and the sun roof was there to accomodate the horn..... :yup:

Who called it "cornowagen" for the first time was a Ford of Brazil CEO ........
so that´s why the brazilian Maverick has NO HORNS in it´s emblems. :yahoo:

Márcio, it is good (always good) to have a source for parts for our cars. Specially the hard to get Brazillian trim items. But you need to only post your items for sale and links to your store in the classifieds. To do otherwise is a form of SPAM which is not a welcome thing on any message board.

Please, I encourage you to join conversations in message threads and to post your items for sale or links to ebay ads in the classified section. But you must try to keep the 2 things separate - message discussion posting and classified ads ........... :)

    Thank you!
