I'd stay away from the Cometics, i've had some bad experiences with them. I'm all for solid copper though!!

    Rick,

Check one thing would ya. I only saw this once. Head bolts that were just a shade to long. ARPs kept blowing head gaskets. The head Bolts were Machined wrong. They bottomed out but not enough to notice when you tighten them. We were talking .030

I have had folks swear by them, and swear at the Cometics. What was your experience, and what is your process on the coppers? What block are you running?

    Sorry Rick...lol

    Interesting. I'll check it out.

BTW, I'm pulling the engine and going to change out the bearings, have the block checked out, have the heads re-surfaced and upgrade the springs (according to Cam Motion's recommendations), new cam and solid lifters. Scr*w it. I plan on revving it to around 7K.

I could be down a while. :drink:

Lance brings up an intersting point while using bolts. So why not use studs? With the newer broached studs from ARP the old issue with removing heads in our cars with the shock towers is no longer an issue. The studs now have a allen head in the end so the studs can be removed after the nuts are removed. They came out out after I built my engine or I would have bought them.
