I sold a few little things lately and have enough in my Paypal to order new carpet. Has anybody purchased carpet from an eBay seller lately? Any pics or suggestions? I'm looking for dark blue loop carpet for my 70 Maverick.

I did a search here but most of what I found referenced buying ACC carpet from other sources.

I found an upholstery shop here in Dyaton that can order me a 2 peice carpet for $158.00. I had no luck finding a 2 piece on my own. Reason for the 2 piece is because i was told that the one piece carpets don't fit very well around the early model tunnels!

Go 2 piece if you can.

You are buying for a 70, so you shouldn't have a problem, but if you are buying for a transitional year 73/74 buy one for a later year if you have a catalytic converter, or an earlier year if you do not.

I got a carpet for a cat hump, but my car has no cat. I ordered for a 74.

2 peice for a 70 is the recomendation? How is a 2 peice going to make it fit the smaller hump?

2-piece has nothing to do with the hump. It just offers the carpet more room to settle.

The hump issue is only a year-to-year issue. The cat-hump carpets have way too much extra material for a non-cat car

    And...how did it fit?

I think I got mine through trimparts, but I got a 1-piece carpet. It all fit well except for the extra material at the cat hump.

The last carpet I bought was from JC Whitney....not sure who made it. It was ill fitting. The hump area was way too big and it wouldn't lie down.

I was thinking a 1 piece might look better with buckets. No seam in between.

Sorry, I don't know. I only have the 74 and my one carpet-buying experience.

Several other threads have come to the conclusion that the 2-piece carpets end up fitting better.

In my opinion the seam is not as great an issue as trying to adjust to fit. Having a carpet that is one piece seems like it would be dificult to manage and could bunch up. My seam is seamed not just cut so it should not look too bad.. Mine is also from Trim Parts but it may have come from New England also..

Mine is ACC, can't remember the eBay seller right now, but like Scooper, I ordered for my year model 74, and it doesn't fit right around the tunnel. If I ever replace it, I'll be looking for the two piece.
