Your driveshaft will fit and work fine...71gold sell the t5 swap crossmember.

Well the current driveshaft I have is a I6 so I definitely wanna upgrade to a V8 one. What you are saying though is that a stock old school drive shaft will work? What about the crossmember??

I used the stock double-hump crossmember. Turned it around backwards and welded a "back porch" plate on to the rear of it to mount the T5. The T5s mounting pad is about 1 1/2" farther rearward than on earlier trannys. Also had to cut a window in the front of the crossmemeber to clear part of the T5's belly.

It sure is a lot easier to buy the T5 cross member set from 71Gold.

I don't know if Frank's crossmember would fit my '70 since it has a narrower tunnel. In my case I had to elongate the crossmember mounting holes to bolt it into the tunnel. An hour or so with a welder and a grinder and I used a part I already owned.

71 gold's crossmembers fit fine in Earl's 70. He has patterns for both AOD and t5's to fit just about any year Maverick/Comet. Even the aftermarket t5 in Terry 1's Comet

Hmmm, too bad he didn't have them in 1997 when I did my swap.

Hello, I have a 70 maverick I currently have a t45 in it. I just put in a 347 and Im afraid that the transmission won't hold up to the new torque which is 415. (Is this assumption correct?) if I get a tko600 will I have to make any modification whatsoever particularly to where the transmission brace mounts to?

The TKO rubber mount is in a different location. Best I can remember its about 1" farther back
