Hello everyone, my transmition won't shift out of first gear. I'm trying to find where the other end of the line comes out from my vacuum modulator. I crawled under the car and took a look. When I was under the car and saw the line the visible portion only went Staight up into the unknown. I would apreceate it if someone could help me to figure out where it comes out on the other end.

mine plugs into a port on the 302 intake, when I had a inline 6 it plugged into a port from the head somewhere in the front

    Hi C77mav,
The vacuum modulator connects to A manifold vacuum source. The factory installation uses A short piece of soft hose at the modulator, connected to A hard line that follows the top/side of the transmission up to another short piece of hose connecting to the manifold vacuum source. Usually near the base of the carb or on the firewall at A remote fitting connected to manifold vacuum.

Thank you. I found it and the vac manafold, hooked it up and it still doesn't go into second. I'm going to try and find a way to test it next.

Mine had the same problem two years ago and it was the little hose at the modulator valve it was on there but I had a bunch of cracks in it, put a new hose on it and it shifts perfect.

Thanks man. I'll take a look at that and let you know if it works.
