Wish I would have been there to see your car. I live only a few miles away.

Stroker, I'm also pleased we got to meet. You have one pretty race car! Quick too! It's not too often you see two Mavericks and a Comet running at an event as small as the one we were attending.

Weather permitting, I'm hoping for one or two more run dates at Thompson yet this year. I'm of the belief my Comet still has more in it's current configuration.

Yeah I'd think so as well, with a little tuning & practicing launch, might just get a 12.35 or so...

    BTW what were short times???

BTW Stroker, when the guy walked up and asked me what size engine I had and I said it was a 302 and he questioned weather in fact it was a 302, you said "if he says it is a 302, then it is a 302". That made me feel good! Thanks for that!!!

Some people still feel that a 331 or 347 will automatically make more horsepower than a 302 and if you are running quick and fast, it must be a stroker:disagree:. While a stroker will generally make more torque overall, strokers typically move the RPM at which peak HP occurs down the RPM scale somewhat, but the actual peak horsepower figure may be no more than the 302 with the same heads and cam, if as much. What makes Rick's Comet impressive to me is the configuration he races it in, that is, drive to the track, let his wife out, head to the staging lanes and turn mid 12's with almost a bone stock looking Comet.
