I couldn't wait till tomorrow...I went out to the garage and gave things a look. My cables look way too long. Then I realized that the way I had them rigged before had eliminated the cable idler. Dug around in my old parts box and guess what I found? A cable idler. Appears like that will do it...I'll know soon.

Good to hear. My new one is a cheapy but I like it ok. Gotta have that aux jack for my ipod! I rarely listen to the radio so I'm still thinking about welding up my antenna mounts on the fender to smooth things up.

Why do you guys need a cd player your in a maverick.. the sound of a classic car is 10 times better the radio or any cds.

I've taken a little break from my project. I got held up on trying to get the emergency brake cables set up because I had to order a few parts. Waiting on a cable idler for a Mustang that I suspect I will have to lengthen a bit. The one I had wouldn't work.

I didn't make the Round Up because I used the last of my vacation to take a motorcycle trip to NC and Pigeon Forge....man it was fun!

Idler came in finally. With any luck I can finish up the emergency brake and start on the frt brake lines this weekend. I sure want to drive this thing soon...I even talked to my insurance carrier to get the ball rolling on adding it to my policy.

I was lazy this weekend and didn't work on the car, but last night I heard a huge crash in the garage. I found my motorcycle fell over into my car. Now I have a big dent in my quarter to fix.

I agree with you kid 1973Maverick357 (Why do you guys need a cd player your in a maverick.. the sound of a classic car is 10 times better the radio or any cds.) more so my little Teacup poodle whose now deceased he'd lay on his back relaxed in the passenger seat. I don’t know if it was the sound or the vibrations, I never played the CD player when he was with me.

After a month off the project I finally worked on it again today. I almost finished plumbing the rt side of the frt brakes. Ran into all sorts of problems. I still have to get the emergency brake cables adapted when this is done. 70 Mavericks suck sometimes since there are not many parts available. Seems like nothing is a bolt on.

Got the Mustang brake hoses and brackets on and hooked up.

Old stock hose vs Mustang hose...those are 68 Mustang brake hose brackets below. They are required to mount the Mustang hoses to the frt frame rails between the control arms for the Mustang hoses to mount to.

Making a line to connect the Mustang hoses to my original lines. I'm flairing the lines and using a connector...I'm not a fan of compression fittings.

I tried to make a nice radius in the line, but ended up having to bend a little different when mounted...oh well it will work fine.

Getting closer to being driveable....then I'm gonna test the mechanicals....then start on the frt end and interior.

Nice write up. First time reading it and read it all the way through. Can't wait for the finale when you get to drive the car on the road. Makes me want to get a little 6 cylinder car to tinker with and drive around.
