OK guys I need some help. I'm not a real car guy and I am having some issues with finding a carb for my car. My mechanic said i need to find a new one, apparently when it was rebuilt they didnt replace all of the bushings and it just wont get right. So, I am having all sorts of trouble trying to find the "right carb". I would prefer to go with new but i cant seem to figure out which one to use or what would be best. Sooooo... What do you guys suggest? As far as I know the engine is original. It has the 2bbl intake and I would like to stay with a 2bbl carb. I have no plans on doing any racing or anything like that. It will just be a cruiser but I do forsee the occasional burnout..lol.

Best I can tell it has a motorcraft 2100 on it now.

What is it? Do you know if it was properly rebuilt? Tested? I just don't know much about carburetors. IM looking for something I can install have only have to do minor adjustments to if any.

Original 2100 from a 73 Maverick. I rebuilt it myself last year for my sons car. We replaced it with a Holley 4v a couple months ago.

You don't need to go racing to have a 4-barrel carb. That's the only way you're really gonna get a new carb, and your engine will love it.

Well, that is unfortunate. I dont think i would have enough room for the adapter plate before i am hitting the hood. I would have to try and get some measurements.

A 4-barrel carb and intake will fit a maverick and still fit under the hood. Even the original air cleaner will work. Edelbrock carb and intake on my car.
