The Holleys on my 3x2 have never leaked and they've been together now for 12 years. Back in olden times, before they got rid of the old cork bowl gaskets Holleys tended to seep fuel, but that's never the case now. As for the "other problems" want to be more specific ? I'm aware of none. The same can be said of Edelbrocks as well. They've no better in that regard than a Holley.
That will be the pump I'll get! I always wanted to build a V8 Pinto but a V8 Ranger would be more useful. Did use a kit to do the install. Was it a terrible job? Are you using a auto trans? Is there room for air conditioning? When you have the time I'd like to here about it. Need to finish my Maverick first. My email address is broncobru@yahoo.com. Thanks
There are a hundred ways to V8 a Ranger. I didn't use a kit. And it depends on what year model you start with and what your ultimate goals are. Get onto the two Ranger sites (the Ranger Station and Ranger Powersports) and study the V8 forums. No two swaps are alike. I did mine 15 years ago. Went through 5 different engine combos (the 3x2 331 in the Comet was one)and three transmissions(two autos, one Toploader 4 speed which now also resides in the Comet) and two rear ends before I sold it.
