It's not good or bad, it's just a preference. Most automatic shifter will wear out eventually though, they just aren't meant for manual use all the time.
Don's a racer an thinks D is for dipsticks! He always shifts it manually for performance! For the street,,car knows best 95% of time! But sometimes we need to show our manly ways an A J Foyt it!
