Nice to have a BBC but don't know if the car can handle the torc without a custom frame. Put a custom paint job on it left the body and chassis all original, nice body style like the RPM's without a lot of torc so I don't stress the body.

Coming into a Ford based forum and boldly stating you are doing a chevy engine is just disrespectful. I dont care how long you been doing cars, you ought to know better and should also expect to be flamed in public. However, I respect your right to do what you want to your car. Take this same thing to any chevy forum and see the rath you will get. We have a legion of very respectful members here, who care about one another. We also care about these cars which this board is based upon. Have some respect man.

I wasn't a big ford fan till i got my mav... At least your doing somthing on one else is doing :) 1 of a kind Mav! Think of it this way your putting the 350 in the Mav and not a crappy, pos, etc... 305. Now if you were putting 305 in then i would be in same boat as everyone else :p is it really a 383? or is it still 350?

Well my opinion is the car is marked for life
I wouldnt put a Chevy in any ford product
Chevrolets arent any cheaper to build, and I've seen many a chevy motor go kaboom before a ford will. Its all in the building but of the motors Ive seen go, most were chevrolets.
As for the 305/350 I would rather have a 305.
I have a 350 fuel injected GMC pickup, and my buddy has the same truck but with a 305. his truck gets better mileage, has about the same power, and with what little less torque it makes, its great because it never has gotten stuck, just keeps going and has pulled out many people w/o spinning a tire

I'm not a fan of mix breeding either, but that's how hot rodding started, you made due with what you had. While I prefer seeing a nice "powered by ford" under the hood of a blue oval, I can not knock your choice. To me, it sounds like you are building a low buck ride, and will probably run it till something pukes, cool in my book, I'm building low buck too, just happen to have a stock pile of ford motors and only 2 chevys sitting on pallets :p.

interesting side note, my buddy had a chevy 1500 with the heart beat decal, reminded me of a heart rate moniter, bleep once, then flat lined all the way around the truck :D
