i know that the cigar/cigarette lighter was an option in mavericks but i figured that just about everyone that i would come into contact with would have one... wrong! the grabber that i am parting out has the 'hole plug' where the lighter socket should be. i know this isnt a rare find but just thought it was interesting :drink:

My 1972 Grabber had the plug from the factory... and had the optional ashtray on the passenger side rear armrest!:16suspect

Well that makes alot of sense! :hmmm:

Wonder how many people actually used a "cigar" lighter to light cigars? We used the one in my '74 Grabber to light fireworks last 4th of July. :) And other then that it powered a radar detector... The one in my '72 is rusted up and dosen't work.

hey M.A.V. ive never seen one of the optional rear ashtrays in a maverick before.. that's pretty cool. by the way, since you have a grabber... does ur car have the 'sportlamps' switch mounted to the underside of the dash?

I've personally never owned a Maverick with a factory cigar lighter ... they have all been plugged ...

the sport lamps come on and off with the side marker position of the headlight switch. that way you dont have to have your headlights on during the day to show them off.

Mine came with the plug as well. I installed a lighter in it. I don't smoke, but I wanted to be able to plug accessories into the socket....
