OK, I'll clean the hood up and take some pics as soon as I can. It will be a few days.

I'm in PA , north and west of Philly and just pick up a 1973 Comet for some parts that I need, however I don't need the hood. I can check it out today to see what the condition is if you are interested.

I had a chance to clean up the hood today. In case you look at the pic and think "that hood is still nasty", I assure you it is much cleaner than it was...

I marked all of the small dings that I could find. I might have missed some. The hood definitely will need to be primed with some high build primer surfacer and block sanded to find everything.
I also marked the small rust through spot under the hood lip.
On the front trim the crown in the middle looks like it may have been bumped, and the two side crowns look the same. But I am not sure if that is from when the metal was bent into the final shape or not. I don't know if you can see it in the pics.
I did body work for 10 years and if I had a need for a Comet hood I would use this one in a heartbeat.
Let me know if you need more or better pics and I will see what I can do. As mentioned before, the only problem I can see with this hood is the distance involved, packing, and shipping.

I went out and checked the hood out on the Comet that I have and it is rusted through in the front frame work and the front edge of the hood. Its repairable but would take a bunch of work.

Hey guys, I also was wondering where do you guys buy your quarter panels? I see Autokrafters has them and also a company called Classic To Current fabrication. Any others? Thanks

You might need an entire rear quarter. Post up some pictures so we can see what you are looking at. I would suggest starting a new thread when you do.

Would pouring ospho inside the front of a hood like that be a reasonable treatment for rust inside the hood structure? What is used in there?

Couldn't ' Hurt ' .. It's used in Rust Treatments in every area I could think of .. I've applied OSPHO on inner Cowl Areas , Trunk , Floor , Firewall, Fender .,, etc etc etc ... After the treatment .. I'd investigate any ' Repairs ' which should be made to the metal . OSPHO isn't a ' cure-all' just a preventive measure !
