I was told by the instructor at the college, it's not a posi. That is Chevy's term. Ford's term is TorqueLoc (3.80 gears). Excuseeeee Meeeee!!! You learn something new everyday. I got it off of Ebay, from Pure Muscle Performance, out of California. Says it will handle up to 350 horsepower. Comes with a one year limited warranty. Sounds great for highway & strip use...

Hey Coop...good choice (y) This will wake your car up more than you can believe. I drove mine for a few years with the 4:10's and switched back to 3:50's for a few weeks...it felt like my brakes were dragging..holding me back. Did you ever get those new heads on? If not...get'er done! Nows the time...you'll feel like you have a totally differnt car next year! You might want to get some taller street tires for the highway...those gears are good but it will rev. I should have taken you for a ride in mine..then you would know sort of what your in for...

I liked mine with the 3.5's in it, but that was because it was being a gas sipper (comparitively) and it was kind of nice having a differential instead of spool for a while.

Went to the college today. They have the axle housing back in the car. They surprised me. They hot tanked & bead blasted the axle housing, then painted it rustloeum semi flat black. All I paid for, was the paint. WooHoo!!!! Here are some pics, enjoy! The last picture is the old pumpkin.

Went & checked it out today. The rearend is completed, except for shocks. I told them to put new stock shocks & due away with the air shocks. Look how high it sits, without the shocks in it. Instead of 1" higher than stock, it looks to be 2 or 3 inches higher. I won't cut the coils. I'll leave the front sitting stock. It will have enough rake, without lowering the front. Getting excited now. Still waiting for the upper & lower control arms. Then it will be complete. Here's some pics, enjoy....

Yeah.......I don't think you will need air shocks. :D

I don't think you will need shocks at all...........it doesn't look like it will give an inch.

Hey Coop! I would put the air shocks back on...it looks like you could use a bit more clearance(kidding eh!). It looks like you may want to have your headlights re-aimed though.

Did they put the rear above or below the leaf springs? Just curious...

Oops..sorry...just saw the pic of the back. I guess I should've looked at all the pics before I asked anything.

I really don't think the back end of that car will move at all.

The 1971 I just bought has really stiff springs on the back. No air shocks........and I can't get the rear-end to budge at all!! It rides like a lawnmower!!
