wow..pretty scary Coop! Kinda a(sorta)good thing it happened now as opposed to halfway to Knotts eh! At least you had a backup...and on the plus side you'll get much better milage this way...
Yea, Ray! I was lucky I wasn't flying down the freeway & have it slam. I might have totaled the car. Or at least the axle housing would be toast.
I agree Cliff. I could just picture me under the car alongside the freeway pulling the pumpkin, while you were off to a junk yard, to find me an 8" pumkin. At that point, the gear ratio wouldn't matter. Just get me back on the road. You are right, better gas mileage this way. Better it happened during a shake down cruise, than on the trip...
Man that sucks, but glad it happened now instead of on the trip down. one of the reasons im holding off for next year. BTW, you guys may be having idle probs because of bad fuel. the west coast refineries dont make fuels that hold up to cold as well, it drops out and gets bad spots in it. if the car sits with the fuel for more than four months in the cold, try to top it off and add some octane boost until you burn the first tank. i always put stabil in the boat but it still doesnt help.
I agree. Better it happened now, instead of on the trip...Figures it might be the fuel. Make it as cheap as you can & sell it for as much as you can....Spells big profits.....
I can agree with that..the price up here is 1.14 per litre....over $4 per gallon...not cheap at all! But on the plus side...I use a lot of it(that may not be a plus after all)
It was done by a company in California. The guy called me back this morning, I'm shipping it back to him, to be fixed. I'll pick it up in L.A. when I get there in 2 weeks.
Just found out, my fuel line was leaking & sucking air. Could be why it stalls. I'll find out on the way home tonight......cross fingers.
Coop..did you find a clear driving light lens? I e-mailed you about a pic..I need a pic to see what it looks like as I have a few different kinds. Just over a week to go....
Thank you! All Comet GT's came with that hood scoop. Find yourself a parts car or someone who has the scoop. Or go to Autokrafters, they make an after market one....
