Got this email a little while ago. Has anyone ever heard of this? ____________________________________________________________ Best Weight Loss Program - Click Here! Sir, Perhaps you can give me some information on a 73 Comet Kitten that my wife bought new in Ohio. Was this a limited option package for that year only? I have never seen another. I too bought a Comet that same year, same color also, but certainly not a Kitten model! This was 6 years before we met. What a coincidence. Any info would be of interest. Thanks, George Malinich Goodyear, AZ ____________________________________________________________ Best Weight Loss Program - Click Here!
I don't think I'd wanna be seen driving around in a car with "Comet Kitten" badges on it... Probably only came in pink... With a rainbow key fob...
Hmmm...seems something was brought up before about one. This is from the old message board. Craig may remember this. Here's what I got from Googling: http://www.maverick.to/archives/mmb3/may2001/messages/402.html http://www.maverick.to/archives/mmb3/may2001/messages/412.html Posted by Rogue Comet (216.98.199.140) on May 23, 2001 at 12:38:02: In Reply to: Re: I have a green dot tranny posted by Guy Ulrich on May 21, 2001 at 14:27:14: Well be it original or not it bolts right up, just like a c4 and it says Jatco right on it. It's not a 6 banger either. It's on a v8... It's identical to a C4 in size and bolt pattern and everything else except it is cast iron. The boss who owns L&L performance Transmissions, said that it was not very common but it did make it's way into some cars that ordered a heavy duty package of some type. Only God knows why Ford/Mercury did what they did then or now. My car is a 74 Mercury Comet. I know it was from here originally because it has the Comet Kitten package put on by Kump Lincoln Mercury. What ever the case may be, I have it and that is what it is. It is too heavy for my needs, I am putting in a C4 built for the strip. I am going to lose quite a few pounds. Take what you want from this it's just what I have in my car. Chris
Craig asked about this car in 2001 http://www.maverick.to/archives/mmb3/may2001/messages/412.html No follow up yet. Give the guy some time, maybe he just hasn't checked his email yet...
Comet Kitten is REAL! Here is a picture of my wifes 1973 Comet Kitten she purchased "new of the showroom floor" from a Lincoln / Mercury dealership in Warren, Ohio.
