Re: I appreciate all the kind words. It is cool knowing I did it. I'm not sure what your talking about though on notching my fenders. They were all on the car prior to taking off the bumpers to have them rechromed. The driver side front fender is the only one not original to the car. The bumpers are another thing I'm looking forward to unwrapping and installing. I had them rechromed last summer when I took them off. I am needing to find a front splash panel though. The one I have is slightly tweeked. Dave
Re: OH Your right. I went out and looked at the left front fender and it is slightly different. It's wierd though cause when I got the car it had the bumpers on it. Dang, So what's the easiest fix on a freshly painted fender. Looking at it, I think I can cut it back leaving anbout 3/4 of an inch to fold over. Should look pretty close. So who's done it and what's the best tool for the cut?
Before Pics Here's a shot of the car when I first got it... http://mmb.maverick.to/attachment.php?attachmentid=1915&d=1061326349 It's cool that I found this pic. It has the hood paint I was looking for to use as a template.
i would notch the stone guard , although i did the fender on my 75 but i wasent even thinking about the guard you probley only need to cut out about 2"x2" (or less) in the guard to slid it in the fender , easiest way , just hold it up to the fenders like your going to mount it and cut away...hack saw(work) sawzall ( careful , it will cut more than you want) cutoff wheel( my favorite ) remember measure once, cut twice
I have notched the stone guard cause I didnt want to cut up my perfect fenders. Real easy to do and nobody will notice anything different. Dan
